Liturgical Ministries

On September 27, 2023, the Collaborative held an evening of formation and reflection for all Collaborative Liturgical ministers at IC Church. Fr. Morin was the presenter
All Eucharistic ministers, lectors, greeters, servers, ministers of Communion to the sick and homebound and those in the hospital and in nursing homes, and anyone else interested in these ministries in both of our parishes were invited to this event.
It was an evening of reflection and formation to help all understand better the liturgical ministries to which they have been called. It was an evening to learn about the importance of your ministry and the theology behind its significance. The tone of the evening was prayerful and reflective.
You can watch a recording of the video above.

Holy Redeemer and Immaculate Conception Parishes Liturgical Ministries
There are many ministries during Mass in which you can participate.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Men and women are chosen to give service to their brothers and sisters at Mass by distributing the Eucharist. In addition they bring the Eucharist to homebound parishioners and to those in the hospital and nursing homes. You can read more about this ministry by visiting usccb.org. If you would like to volunteer for this ministry, contact one of the parish offices:
Holy Redeemer (Nativity, Merrimac and St. Ann, W. Newbury): 978-346-8604
Immaculate Conception (Newburyport): 978-462-2724

Lectors: Parish women or men (including youth) who proclaim the Word of God at Mass. Anyone interested in this ministry is invited to contact Collaborative offices (978-346-8604 or 978-462-2724). You can read more about this ministry by visiting usccb.org.

Altar Servers: assist the priests and deacon at Mass. Any individual who is 4th grade or older and has made their First Communion is eligible to become an altar server. We also welcome any adult who might be interested. This is a wonderful way to serve our parish communities and our Lord. Training will be provided. If you are interested in serving, please call Collaborative offices at 978-462-2724 or 978-346-8604 and ask for Melinda or Christine. You can read more about this ministry by visiting usccb.org.

Music Ministry: is an important aspect of our liturgical celebrations. There are many opportunities for people with varying experience and of differing ages to share their talents.
