IC Religious Education Summer 2017 for Grades 1-6 and Grades K-6--School Year 2017-2018 (see bottom of page for parent letter and registration form)

Welcome to Immaculate Conception Church's Religious Education. We are blessed with having over 500 children and youth enrolled in our Religious Education program. The most current information regarding Religious Education can be found on the website and in the bulletin. It is our privilege to be a partner with parents as they share our faith with their children. 

Please consider joining our dedicated volunteer catechists and their assistants by sharing your time and your faith with the children and youth of our parish.

Summer Religious Education 2017

Parents of child in our summer program will receive a homeschool curriculum to review with their child/ren during the school year to help them retain what they learned over the summer session.

Please complete Summer 2017 Catechetical Events Log Sheet to be eligible for this summer 2017.  Please complete at least 5 activities/events by June 1 to be eligible to register for Summer religious education and record on login Sheet.

Save the dates:  IC Summer Religious Education for grades 1-8:  June 26-30 or July 24-28.  Monday-Thursday 9:00am-3:00pm and Friday 9:00am-1:00pm.   Please note: student is to be present everyday, all day for lessons and needs to complete a Catechetical login sheet prior to be accepted into the program.  Registration form are now available.

Save the date:  Middle School Mission week:  July 10-14 from Monday 10am-4pm, Tuesday 9am-4pm, Wednesday 8am-4pm, Thursday 10am-4pm, Friday 10:00am-6:00pm.

School Year Religious Education

Our Schedule for Religious Education 2017-2018.  Sundays 10:05-11:05am for Grades K-8, Sundays 1:00-3:00pm for Grades 7-8 (Sundays twice a month), and Mondays 6:00-7:10pm for Grades 1, 2, 7-8 (gr 3-6 will need at least 10 students in order for the class to be held).  We also offer a Homeschool curriclum for grades 1-8.

Immaculate Conception Church, Newburyport, MA—Syllabus and Curricula 2017-2018 Gr K-8

Grades K-8: 30 hours of formation are required by the archdiocese.  We would also like to have the children participating regularly at Sunday liturgy which is both liturgical and catechetical through the homily.  By participating in liturgy and catechesis, we will far exceed the required 30 hours.  If your child attends the Sunday program, please consider participating in liturgy at 9:00am or 11:30am.  If you child will participate in the Monday evening session, please join in celebrating any weekend liturgy.

Youth Masses

We offer a monthly Sunday 5:00pm Youth Mass at either Holy Redeemer Church at Nativity, 4 Green St. Merrimac or at Immaculate Conception, 42 Green St. Newburyport.
